FRANZ LISZT INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION - OHIO 2025

Competition dates: October 16-18, 2025

Registration deadline: August 15, 11:59 PM EDT 

Location: Timashev Family Music Building, Ohio State University School of Music

RULES 

Age eligibility: 24-40 years old

​

Video Preliminary Round Program: 30-45 minute program of solo repertoire to include solo works or transcriptions of Liszt 

Live Round Program: 60-minute program of solo repertoire to include 20-30 minutes of solo works or transcriptions of Liszt​

​

*The live round program can be identical to the video program submitted. 

*The video you submit for the preliminary round does not need to be recorded in one take.

​

Application Fee: $90

​

​

COMPETITION ROUNDS 

The 2025 competition consists of three rounds:

​

  • Preliminary round based on submitted video links 

  • Semifinal Live Round in Ohio (no more than 12 semifinalists)

  • Final Live Round in Ohio (6 finalists)

​


PRIZES

First Prize: $2,000, medal

Second Prize: $1,000, medal

Third Prize: $500, medal         

 

Special prize for best American work

Special prize for best Contemporary work

Special prize for best Liszt work

Membership awards to the American Liszt Society for the first year

Concert engagements through the American Liszt Society Chapters, and much more.

• University of Indianapolis, Guest Artist Recital

• Coastal Carolina University, Guest Recital Series
