In the words of Chapter President, Gila Goldstein, "Luiz dedicated the performance of the variations to the recent passing of Tom Mastroianni, Anne Koscielny and Aldo Ciccolini.
"Luiz is one of a kind. One learns from him about sound and unique, free interpretations. It was an illuminating and inspiring evening. We had a very good crowd, many admirers and former students came, and also our friends and fellow Lisztians Rena Mueller, David Cannata, David Witten and Justin Kolb attended."
